Dress Rehearsal for the Popular Play “Guys and Dolls” on the Hatfield Hall Theater Stage.

Students will showcase their acting, musical, and dancing skills while presenting the popular play “Guys and Dolls” on the Hatfield Hall Theater stage. This is the third play presented by the Drama Club during this school year.

The Drama Club will present the popular oddball romantic comedy, “Guys and Dolls,” on Friday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, both at 1:30 p.m. in the Hatfield Hall Theater. Tickets are currently on sale for all shows.

Set in writer Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, “Guys and Dolls” centers on Gambler, Nathan Detroit (played by Dane Meyers), trying to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town, while legal authorities breathe down his neck. Meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Miss Adelaide (Lainie Lawrence), laments that the couple has been engaged for 14 years.

Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson (Eli Fritz), for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight laced missionary, Sarah Brown (Hannah Ritchhart), as a result.

Directed by Trevor Hanson, “Guys and Dolls” takes the audience from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City. Eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.

Other cast members are Riley Vallier as Nicely-Nicely Johnson, Noah Marino as Benny Southstreet, Lila Ward as Arvide, Eric Sparks as Harry The Horse, William Hovey as Lieutenant Brannigan, Frank LaMantia as Big Jule, and Nathan Pratt as Rusty Charlie. Several other students are featured in a mission band, crap shooters, hot box girls, waiters, and Cuban dancers.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for youths under 18. Tickets can be purchased online at hatfieldhall.com, by calling the ticket office at 812-877-8544, or by visiting the Hatfield Hall ticket desk Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. If still available, tickets also could be purchased at the ticket desk beginning one hour before each show.
