ASCE Student Chapter Wins First Place for Steel Bridge Competition
For the second straight year, Rose-Hulman won the overall first place award for the Steel Bridge Competition earning a bid to nationals. This year’s team consisted of students (pictured L-R) David Chan, Lyndsey Barnett, Chris Lynn (captain), Lukas Lambert, and Colby Belzer.
Over the past weekend, the Cecil T. Lobo Student Chapter of The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) competed in the Indiana-Kentucky (INKY) Student Symposium. For the second straight year, Rose-Hulman won the overall first place award for the Steel Bridge Competition earning a bid to nationals.
The symposium consists of 14 schools and includes a variety of civil engineering-related competitions including Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge. The Rose-Hulman team competed against six other schools in the competition. In addition to being named the overall winner, the team was also recognized for Lightness (2nd place), Construction Speed (2nd place), Construction Economy (2nd place), and Cost Estimation (1st place).
This year’s Steel Bridge team consisted of students David Chan, Lyndsey Barnett, Chris Lynn (captain), Lukas Lambert, and Colby Belzer.
